Code Of Conduct

Code of Conduct – January 2017

At the Council meeting on Thursday 5th January 2017, the Parish Council reviewed the  Code of Conduct for all Councillors.

The Code of Conduct is based on the Horsham District Council July 2014 document which has at its core the ‘Nolan Principles’, the involvement of an independent person in the investigation of allegations of misconduct, a register of Members’ Pecuniary interests and a criminal offence of failing to declare or register Pecuniary Interests.

The Code of Conduct includes provisions relating to Disclosable Pecuniary Interests as contained within the Regulations made under the Localism Act 2011.

The Code of Conduct was originally adopted in July 2012. A notice of amendment can be seen here.

All Parish Councillors are required to complete a Register of Interests within 28 days of their taking office. Under the Code of Conduct these have to be displayed on the Council’s website. You can see the individual Registers of Interest here.
